I had plans to go to Khao San Rd tonight, but last night an expat friend phoned me and told me to avoid the area as it's close to Sanam Luang and there's some political protest going on there. I asked a Thai friend this morning and she said she thinks it's okay, anyone got any info?

At the very least, some people will be gathering at Sanam Luang, and peaceful or not, traffic will surely SUCK...better just leave it for any other night.
