The unfortunate reality is that since 1st April there have so far been 14,953 deaths from covid and Thailand has a long way to go yet on that.????

Kids should be in school now but the finer detail of getting all teachers vaccinated was lost in the strategy, they are starting to open some now under strict covid rules. It would also be useful to get their parents vaccinated, too many have already died leaving orphaned children in Thailand, thousands of them.

UK Apr 1, 126,800 deaths. Sept 15, 134,647. An increase of 7,847. Thailand Apr 1. 94 deaths. Sept 15 14,765. An increase of 14,671. This reflects Delta fatalities.

80% or over need to be double jabbed and then add a week or two for the vaccines to reach full strength.  Even then there will be a high case load and deaths will still be uncomfortably high.

 

90% would be preferable.  December opening would be more realistic.  Too slow in vaccinating the oldsters.

The country will be opening possibly in October or it could be November or maybe even in December.

At long last, there is some recognition from the Authorities that " Long Covid " exists in Thailand.

However, the exact percentage of people who have Long Covid after their initial Infection seems to have eluded the Department that made the statement.

Acording to them between 10- 20 % of those infected now have long covid.

It seems that research is not their thing, so they pluck numbers friom thin air to publish.

Just a tad amatuerish.

When countrys give travel restrictions to their citizen's, they watch 7 day average number/ 100000 people. If i remember correctly that magical number is 200/100000! Soon Thailand has just "manage" situation when magical number has drop under 200 before October! This post is not conspiracy post or is it.......?

Around 9,000 excess deaths in Thailand  during July. A figure to compare to around 3,000 registered Covid-19 deaths during this period. I guess some posters will explain the gap by suicides committed because of the economic crisis.......

“The deaths were all over 60 years old and the youngest was a 61 year old man fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca though he suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. looking at reported cases can be a bit misleading and not show the true 'curve'.  no country is able to report an accurate number of their cases each day, month, etc...  deaths is a more accurate measure, while those can be hidden, still more accurate than trying to chart cases.  the death charts for india and indonesia both look alot like thailand although thailand has only just turned down.  i'm sure people will say india hid their deaths and that may be true but it just means the bell type curve went up higher, still came crashing down after a fairly short period.  these things tend to last 2-3 months.  i have seen a few from last winter that lasted longer and did not crash down, more gradual (italy for example, 4-5 months).  so there are outliers.

Phuket hospital claims success with subcutaneous injection of AZ as booster

The Vachira Phuket hospital has claimed successful experimentation with subcutaneous injection of AstraZeneca vaccine, as a third booster dose for people already inoculated with two doses of Sinovac vaccine. Used subcutaneously, a single dose of vaccine can be given to five times as many people as an intramuscular injection, and with slightly higher antibody levels.
