In a staggering case of waste of public resources the Immigration Bureau's chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang ordered a widespread check on bread making factories nationwide and in Bangkok, notes ASEAN NOW.

This followed a story - reported on by media Naew Na - that foreigners in Bangkok were using their feet.

Finally the IB looked at the logo on the YouTube video and saw it was Nation Next that has the tagline New Hub For New India.

The case came from India and was on the video sharing channel on September 18th that prompted the IB chief's "concern for citizens" and factory checks.

Yet when the story broke on our Facebook arm among the first posters were people who had done a cursory search on Youtube and found that it had nothing to do with Thailand. They claimed it was old news too.

It looks as though the foot was not on the bread in Thailand - but firmly wedged in the mouth of wasteful officialdom.

In related news - insofar as it relates to IT capabilities - today the IB assured the public that a 106 million tourist name data breach had nothing to do with them.

They claimed with the help of the DES Ministry they are IT competent and secure.

Foreign observers of the IT capabilities of Thai officialdom have often claimed that they need to go back to school to understand the rudiments of the internet.

The copy madness at immigration/embassies is here to stay -they'll never trust their own IT-systems!

Stupidity at the highest level. And gullibility...

Let's put a picture on social media and say it's a Thai baker, resting his feet on bread and see what happens...

Competent and Thai officialdom should never be used in the same sentence.

Another case of it's not me. It's him.

Finger pointing at its very best.

I would imagine the vast majority of foreigners in Bangkok use their feet.

That's assuming they actually did any of the checks that they proposed...

These must be the well "heeled" tourists from India Thailand is counting on....

The hub of time and resource wasting in an effort to justify their monthly pay.

Lt-Gen Som Chingduang

.

General on phone, calling PM: Som Ching duang here--

Prayut: Yes, you big idiot.

What ever happened to the Department of Fake News that was created about 2 years ago. Seems like this would have been something they should or could have weeded out.

Just because the video was from India it does not mean it does not happen in Thailand or for that matter every country in the world.

I know when ever I took a break at work I looked for a nice tray of bread to rest my feet. on.

I think Thailand was right to investigate the incident, and I wish every other government will follow their example This outrageous abuse of the powerless bread has to stop. If it's not bad enough that we eat it , does it have to endure the indignity of having our smelly feet resting on it?

I am surprised more of you are not as outraged as I am????

By the way, Bread in Thailand is so bad, I would be more worried abut the feet that I am worried about the bread. LOL

A few feet on it can only improve it's flavor????
