Popular Post ThailandRyan Posted September 27, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 27, 2021 Pray tell what they will do with a stockpile of 125 million doses of vaccine at the end of the year if as he has said before that the country will be 70% vaccinated by the end if the year. Just what vaccines will be in the stockpile and will they all be given using the very new and still not officially approved intradermal injection method. Happy to see the numbers of cases and total deaths are decreasing, but it would be nice to know how many were actually tested. 6

Popular Post Macrohistory Posted September 27, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 27, 2021 Semi-lockdowns clearly work very, very well in the context of a steadily increasing vaccination rate. Let's hope the authorities keep the pressure on until the virus is driven into the ground. Don't listen to the COVID deniers who want to throw all the progress away just so they can go sit on a barstool somewhere. No let-up until the situation is well and truly under control and the population is safe from death by suffocation and horrible disease. 5 1 1

It was very busy. The only visable sign where I am of a lockdown now is the curfew and of course no sitting in a restaurant enjoying a beer with the meal. 3

Unless I’m missing something, you can calculate the number of tests using the positivity rate. Positive cases / positivity rate = tests Today would be 76719 tests. 1
Popular Post DrJack54 Posted September 27, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 27, 2021 No good reason for ban on serving alcohol. Curfew 9pm in place. Your typical bar, if open today would be far less crowded than my Big C and many other places for that matter. The owners of those businesses and employees need to see some small glimmer of hope. 7 1

hackjam Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Thats a steady decline for the past few weeks, so good news. I have no issues with the 9pm curfew, and even if bars were open, would be no big deal, just head out early if needing a good skinfull. With the numbers falling, surely they can give something-Massage and spas to fully operate, booze with outdoor dining, for example, sort of like a controlled opening, see how that goes??? Jomtiem was busy this weekend, lots of Thais came to the beach, was good to see places busy, most were just boozing on the roadside/back of pick up trucks, as the would do normally. 2

That sounds logical but Thailand's stats are not always logical, before they changed the format to now be the positivity rate and we do not know where they take that from, it was always the number of tests that were shown but they stopped showing these 2 or 3 weeks ago. At the time they were doing around 40k tests daily and the graph was decreasing showing a steady decline on the number of tests daily. However you can still get the testing figures here, last data point was around 37k per day but on the 7 day rolling average its around 50k https://djay.github.io/covidthailand/#testing 6

Why Me Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 I hope they shorten the curfew hrs. to 11-4. That will still discourage the drunken late-night gatherings they are afraid of while allowing some more late evening economic activity (restaurants, alcohol till 10, malls till 9).

Using the Mor Phrom App for showing the Vaccination and the test being done I would surmise would be acceptable at the bridge, but then not sure how else you could show it unless you carried your Certificate and then the vaccination appointment schedule for the second vaccine as well as the e-mail from the testing provider. STill a cluster in my book. 3
