snoop1130 Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 Veteran politician Wirat Ratanaset’s indictment on corruption charges has cast a cloud over his status as government chief whip and is threatening to impact the ruling coalition. However, he still has a few months before the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders decides on December 20 whether to accept the case for trial. If the trial does go ahead, the law stipulates that Wirat be suspended from duty until the final verdict, unless the court decides otherwise. There's not one walk of life here that is not riddled with corruption - even the temples. That + an unwillingness to work does not augur well for Thailand's recovering economy. 1

Yet again , up to the judges. Why bother having laws at all if they can be ignored and everything depends on the proclivity of a few judges chosen for office by the people they are standing in judgement of.
