Heavy rain forecast for most parts of Thailand, 14 provinces warned of flash floods

People living in Thailand’s central, lower north-eastern, eastern and southern regions have been warned to brace for heavy rain in the next 24 hours, which may result in flash floods in some areas and overflowing rivers, due to the influence of a strong south-westerly monsoon looming over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand and an atmospheric depression in the central South China Sea, according to the Thai Meteorological Department.

Prosecutors drop charges against former secretary of Khunying Potjaman in KTB case

In an about-face, the public prosecutors have decided not to pursue money laundering charges against the former secretary of Khunying Potjaman Na Pombejra, the ex-wife of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, and her husband in connection with the 9 billion baht loan granted by the state-run Krung Thai Bank to the Krisda Mahanakorn real estate company.

Liquor sales banned in Chanthaburi following resurgence of COVID-19

Anutin pushes vaccines for Krabi reopening

Thai health officials hint at reimposition of restrictions in Deep South

Lockdown restrictions will be reintroduced in Thailand’s four southern border provinces of Songkhla, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat, possibly in November or December, if the COVID-19 situation does not improve by then, according to Public Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Kiattibhoom Vongrachit.
