What Is On Your Creative Side?

Featured Replies

I think everyone has the ability to be creative. I think it's important that we all find something creative to do. Keeps us young, sharp of mind and in touch with what makes us human. So, what creativity do you engage in? Play an instrument? Write? Paint?

I myself used to act. I thought it would be my profession, when I changed my mind about that, I thought I would just do local theater. I don't. I write mostly now then anything else. However, on my list of Things To Do Before I Die, there is learn a instrument and paint. Maybe I will have more time in my golden years, LOL!

Play Guitar, sing, write and act.

All amateurishly, though I ooze talent.

I would love to get back in acting: haven't done for years.

I sporadically play gigs, depending on where I live, what I do...

Above all though, it would seem writing is the thing I should concentrate my efforts on.

Pity Thaivisa exists, cos otherwise I might actually spend my time to do something creative.

I know what you mean, this place is quit draining. :o

It could become more inspirational though, thanks Bop.

I play the guitar, well at least it entertains me, I don't get enough time/ I'm lazy and at the moment my guitars are in the UK while I'm in Sweden, I'm off home in a few weeks though and I'll bring my old acoustic back with me.

I want to play 'one' by U2, I'm never (repeat NEVER) going to play like the Edge, but if I can suss out the bass chords I can use that to strum along with some barre chords and sing the song, be a good one for BBQ nites or on the beach, everyone knows the song and can join in and it's great if someone is passing the guitar around that you can do something for a party piece.

bring your strings along to our meet up later, I'll give you One... :o

I mean, I'll give you the song "one" :D

Yeah, I like that. That is why I want to learn to play, just to have fun with family and friends and learn a new skill for enjoyment. :o

I used to play keyboards, not piano, that's a totally different beast. But I haven't been anywhere near one now for a couple of years, I may be a little rusty. It does cross my mind every now and again to get one here, but there is so much other stuff that doesn't need doing, I would just be adding to my list of things not to do.

This may sound odd, but I was at my most creative writing databases, a couple I did for the ex-company were works of art (if you are in to that sort of thing) in fact, before I left their employ I made sure that they had all the passwords, well all the passwords except the top level one, and without that they can't remove the code that makes the program add the word "<deleted>" in very large type over every printout. It only does it on my birthday though, I'm not totally cruel. :o

I play the guitar and sing. Had a Farang band in Pattaya a couple of years ago that even made it into the Blues Factory (i.e. onto the stage...).

After that we hi-jacked beer bars around town and did our one hour gigs.

Nowadays, raro's remarkable rockshows (All Along The Watchtower and Rocking in the Freeworld) are a sought-after events in Soi 2.... :o

Will post a picture from our heydays later....got to find them first.

I just can't seem to stop being creative....it seems to have taken over my life...I eat, sleep, breathe, and sweat creation.....does this make me a creationist? (shudder)

No, that is reallt cool and yes creative. When I say creative that is what I mean, it doesn't have to be art or artsy, it can be building something, to create something. I wish I could write programs and databases, that would rock.

That is cool, man. Did you jam or were you a cover band? Any genre you liked to stay in?

The creative side of me has been somewhat Idle lately. Returning to some sporadic writing now. I've proved my point years ago and don't feel any real need to publish. Can't be bothered with theatre for the time being.

One that made it necessary to be able to answer "I'm a writer" when asked "What do you do?"

Yes, I love the Impressionists, Bebop. I love many different painters. I love painting images and feelings. I used to just paint from my heart. I hope I get my skitz back. Don't have any skitz now...
