Most of the increase in numbers can be attributed to the southern border provinces. Nobody gives a damn about those anyway. Next!

It appears that even with a PCR confirmed test that there may be many ATK case positives and is the reason for a closure like this.  Of course it is my view from what we have seen elsewhere.  Again more bubble and seal tactics without reporting the true number of TOTAL cases be they confirmed or probable.  How many cases are in the location now closed.

The article states "The orders conclude, “Many Covid -19 confirmed cases were being found at work camps and construction sites in Banglamung and Sattahip district.”

How can anybody take this seriously if they continue to play games.

The more under reporting the better (some govt reports estimate 5-6 times) - there is more natural immunity and the actual case fatality is much lower than reported. It's nothing to worry about - just watch the number of serious cases and those on ventilators, which are decreasing.

Thailand to ramp up vaccination in four southern provinces to contain Covid-19

Thailand’s Public Health Ministry is to ramp up vaccination in four southern provinces - Yala, Pattani Songkhla, and Narathiwat - to contain the surge in Covid-19 cases.

Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the ministry will to distribute 1 million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine to the four provinces this month.

"A total of 400,000 doses of vaccine is scheduled to be delivered next week while another 600,000 doses by end of the month,” he told reporters in Pattani today.

Apologies if this has been posted before but it is pleasing to see things ramping up steadily on the vaccination front.......

Given the failure even of lockdown to eradicate transmission, it's as clear as day what will happen when Thailand reopens.

Ergo and so thats why  learning to live with Covid and getting vaccinated is so important.

As of the 14th Oct the vaccination coverage (double dosed) for:

Pattanai = 22.3%

Narathiwat = 23.8%

Yala = 31.5%

Songkhla = 32.8%

Low I think as they were not targeted as tourist destinations

I forget… what does “dissonance” mean again… There is clearly a gap between the caseload and Thailand’s plan to reopen.  I might not be quite sure what the gap is, or what the right solution is… but I feel for the people coming in November/December/January.

But it won't be vaccinated in 14 day's time!

As for learning to live with it: I guess it's easier to be brave if you are double jabbed already. I would agree though since this relatively mild pandemic is likely to seem trivial compared with the travails to come brought about by climate change. One message is clear- get fit, as fit as you've never been in your life.

I think your views are a bit 'ting tong' as they say in these parts.

Just resonating what the governments wants unfortunately with learning to live with Covid, and as my post was partly sarcastic you obviously missed the point.  However, as far as being Ting Tong well if you knew me you would know I was not just Ting Tong but a little Bat Feces crazy.

Ah! Sorry I didn't realize it was ironic - I apologize.

Seriously though, I guess we are just going to have to live with it. And I think the freedom we crave is going to come with a great deal of risk in the future for a number of reasons.  Life could get pretty nasty.  Imbalances are a problem too, as usual. Many of us farangees have been vaccinated, whereas some are languishing on one dose, while others nothing whatsoever.  Typical Thailand really.
