Australia gifts Vietnam 800,000 more vaccine doses

A batch of 800,000 AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine doses provided by the Australian government arrived in Hanoi Thursday.

 

With this third delivery, Australia has met its commitment to share 1.5 million AstraZeneca vaccine doses from its own supply with Vietnam within this year, the Australian Embassy stated.

 

In addition to the gifted vaccine doses, Australia’s Ambassador to Vietnam, Robyn Mudie, announced Australia would support Vietnam to purchase approximately 3.7 million more vaccine doses, through a procurement agreement with the UNICEF and in partnership with Vietnam’s Ministry of Health.

Within the next few months, the EU will have to destroy millions of doses from different manufacturers (exception: AZ!), because Big Pharma rejects them to be given to the poorer countries.

They want compensation payments for those doses, though they are payed full price by the EU. Because: Each dose the EU gives for Africa cannot be sold by the Pahrma gangsters.

And hey, the EU signed these contracts.
