snoop1130
Photo from Facebook Chirayu Huangsap The opposition Pheu Thai Party’s MP Chirayu Huangsap challenged Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha today (Friday) to dissolve the House of Representatives after many government MPs and ministers missed House meetings on Wednesday and Thursday, resulting in a lack of a quorum. During a press conference at parliament this morning, the Bangkok MP said that the absence of a large number of government MPs at the two meetings reflects a lack of stability and factionalism within government parties. He said that only about 300 MPs, out of about 500, reported their presence at the meeting this morning, adding that opposition MPs will discuss whether they should demand a headcount to determine whether the meeting in the afternoon has a quorum. Perhaps because virtually all the other parties which could be considered an opposition, because their electoral base emphatically rejected Prayut and his gang, have been banned or otherwise emasculated ( in the name of democracy !) And yes, I know you will opine that is how these things are always managed, but that does not make it right, nor does it satisfy a growing demand, especially amongst the younger generations, to change the way things are done. 2

Sure. Still awaiting what the younger set might do to organize change. From this vantage point doesn't look to be practiced too very well.

spidermike007
The Bangkok MP said that the absence of a large number of government MPs at the two meetings reflects a lack of stability and factionalism within government parties. This would be amusing if it were not so sad. The true lack of stability to Thai society is with their failed leader, his spectacularly corrupt party, the toxic bought and paid for senators he appointed, and the utterly useless Thai army. Not to mention the vast majority of the police, immigration, customs and border patrol. 1

Even more bemusing are the practices of simple intelligent reasoning that there might be a difference between principled establishment branches that come from the same tree.
Moo 2
Our General had the right idea, just copy what other dictators are doing world wide, (God knows how may they are) eliminate the opposition and become a country leader for life! It save a lot of time and paperwork. Long live Dictators!

If one is knowledgeable regarding contemporary Thai history, surely one would recognize the borrowed playbooks for decades of the very Thai unique military/oligarchical brethren of the past - like looking in a mirror. If it works, why muck it up. .....and very distinctive to Thai/Thailand.
