12/11/2021   If this article is accurate it looks like the Government has recognised the ultimate limitations of the current procedures for visitors

to Thailand.

It appears consideration may be given replacing RT-PCR  "Test & Go" with orther methods of screening  ---- Lateral Flow Tests ?

and easing the close contact rules for anyone finding themselves sitting near an infected person on the airplane.  At present they consider those sitting two rows forwards or behind an infected passenger to be at risk and needing quarantine. Now they are looking at those only sitting next to an infected passenger as at risk with a consequent ASQ for a shorter period of 10 days rather 14.  It looks like they have also realised that the logistics of routing increasing numbers of passengers through secure transport (airport to hotel) and pressures on testing labs to maintain a 6 hour turnround with a rapid turnover of guests for hotels is ultimately not sustainable and could not support the desire to ramp up visitor numbers.  Data on infected arrivals support this.. to November 9th there were

28,021 arrivals with 28 detected as positive .... 1 per 1000 persons.

There is an article in the news forum that is bit clearer than the one posted in the OP.

No need for another topic about it.
