But no, it isnt back.

Actually, why are there so many thread titles saying this, when for most of us it remains the same: no youtube?

Are some areas getting it back or is this a constant wind up?

I use TT&T ADSL in Jomtien and it's hit or miss. e.g. In the past week, three non-contiguous days I had access to YouTube.com, the past 24 hours being included. Then for a day or two, it is not accessible.

I've been beaten into submission: I'm grateful for when I can access it.

As posted in the previous zillion threads, the block is (mis)managed by the ISP's. One service in particular seems to be unable to do this and they account for the majority of 'it's working' threads. The majority of users continue to find this site, and others blocked or 'timing out'.

wifi mireless is'nt showing it, but if you go to www.metacafe.com and serach Thailand your see some great stuff which is'nt decrading any head of states, but there is an artical on the reasons of the ban. If anyone can tell me how to acsse youtube please tell.

Does anyone know an official ruling on this? I.e. it must be due to come back up some time as they've removed the offending clips I believe.

If someone has a link to a source saying "Youtube will be back up on XXXX date" then this would put an end to these misleading threads.

It may just be a case of whenever they can be bothered though, which may be a while yet...

Chris, FYI Metacafe is ICT [Green Screen of Death] blocked. Reason I believe is that there is/was, a video purporting to show child sex for sale in Thailand, though it looks like it was filmed in Cambodia or Vietnam. Soundtrack quality makes it difficult to identify language being spoken behind voice over.

why is everyone so addicted to youtube when there are other sites like Clipser that offer the same thing? there are loads of other sites out there.

youtube is popular, regulated and the biggest host for online videos.

I took a look at your Clipster link, clipped, in the hope to find something good. A search for Little Britain produced one link, youtube has tons. A search in TV programmes produced some unknown to me German TV shows about bikini girls. A couple more searches brought up soft porn. This is similar to the majory of non youtube sites. Maybe it depends on what you like watching, but personally i prefer a bigger and broader selection.

I still miss youtube and bothers me when a friend emails me a link i cant watch under normal circumstances. This sensorship is really annoying.. mountains out of molehills.

For a long time I have secretly been using the ohh so complex hack of putting uk.youtube.com but it seems the geniuses finally figured that one out !!

I was reading that Youtube serves up more video than all other video sites combined. Really sad we have to break the law to use it.
