Online startup Makalius has warned Thai tourists that something as virulent as the Covid-19 virus is rearing its ugly head.

Online fraudsters selling fake packages, non-existent rooms and bogus vouchers for accommodation, shops and restaurants.

Chairwoman Neeranuch Traijakwanich told Manager that as tourism gets going again and the December high season begins there is an increasing prevalence of fraudsters taking advantage of Thai tourists.

She advised people to take a little time to ensure they are dealing with reputable individuals before parting with money saying that 100,000s of baht have been lost so far since inter-provincial travel restrictions were lifted in October.

Health insurance plans that meet the long stay visa requirements
