Oh please.

If you read the article you would know this was not cartel related.

Also it's well known that Cuernevaca is not on the list of safest Mexican destinations to live.

To be clear I am not saying that Mexico is perfectly safe or a crime free paradise any more than the USA is. But I am saying if you pick your location there carefully and practice common sense risk avoidance, it would be irrational to rule out the country entirely based on crime fear.

Below is an article  3/09/22  on Mexico   which you have said is a great place to retire hahaha:

Thousands of feminists march in Mexico City: 'I am scared to simply be a woman in Mexico'

I would consider  Portugal as my father was born in Lisbon and I still have his birth certificate and US Naturalization papers.

I don't recommend Turkey even for gay-curious persons. That is, if you like S. E. Asian body type and face. You know - Javanese, Khmer, Tai Yai. Turks are a large, hairy people. With my erotic aesthetic Turkish women rarely 'check any boxes' for me. So I didn't check any boxes.

Another great thing is Turks are much closer to westerners in thinking and behaviour. I actually made friends there. And talk about world-class museums and history! Near Syria, in Antakya staying at my CAD$13 hotel room with fabulous vegetarian-friendly (albeit certainly not vegan) breakfast buffet I would go hiking in the mountains and literally trip over Roman, Byzantine and Seljuk ruins.

Of course, cost factor (bargain)  could change if Turkish gov't gets FXS and economy in order.

I highly recommend Turkey for heterosexual women.

Shagged a half turkish hslf swedish girl a few times, amazing

Does anyone else suspect that perhaps some of the people who responded to the poll don't know the difference between Taiwan and Thailand?  I've come across a few people who think Thai food comes from Taiwan.

Southern Americans?

Are you kidding me?

You live off A$967.50 a fortnight - the median weekly rent is A$471;

leaving you with more or less nothing to feed yourself.

BTW - I live in Australia.

Why would a single person rent a 3 br or 4 br house?

Room rentals are $140+.

If you opt not to get vaccinated, (if not for medical reasons), then you've made your own bed and should accept whatever are the consequences of your decision, which might include fines, imprisonment, entry denied to other countries etc.  I have zero sympathy with the unvaxxed - it's their own personal decision.

Jail for no vaccine? What nazi country is this?

Agree with all your comments; and hey they all have plenty of advantages, depends what you are looking for. But my issue with Portugal is that the government is broke (like many governments, but worse), taxes will rise and they will also coming knocking for your money when the crisis unfolds.

you don't know much about Portugal do you, if you did,  you would know their economy is as good as any other European country and they won't go knocking on peoples doors asking for money, what type of government does that, yours by any chance ? before criticizing you should update yourself

Retire in Portugal – Taxes

Portugal typically taxes all income. This includes pension income and income from international sources. However, as mentioned earlier, the Portuguese government has taken steps to make the country a welcoming place for expatriates. This includes something called Non-habitual Residence (NHR) status. NHR applies to people who have not been tax-paying residents of Portugal in the previous five years. If you qualify, your income is exempt from Portuguese income tax for 10 years. This includes income from work, investments, capital gains, pensions and rental income.

Portugal again.

Most people have never been there.

I lived there 4 years.
One of the highest prices for cars, petrol etc.
My ex came back 2 weeks ago from visiting her mom in Portugal.
Extremely expensive.

During winter, weather is quite shi.... and if you do not have heating, well that's another problem.

I do not miss Portugal a bit. Completely overrated.

Probably not unless you'd be the perp. Gender violence is usually done by people close to the victim.

The dangers of Mexico are real.but often greatly exaggerated considering the areas gringos usually stay at and their typical activities.

A pal just went to Albania. A lot of Italians retire there and pretty much anyone can.

Cheap at Moldova-levels, trippy, BladeRunner-like capitol, BUT very Christian women who want you to meet the Patriarch after 3 chaste coffee dates. It's def an honor killing kind of place.

It's either the bottom rung of prostitutes who couldn't organize a Frankfurt bus ticket at the disco, or nothing.
