On marriage extension, is additional Covid insurance required if travel out and come back from abroad?

Hi,

Not sure if this has already been answered...appreciate some input in any case. I have had private insurance for many years, but only up to 1.450 Mio Baht, short of the 50K$ that seems to be the general requirement for foreigners to bet allowed in.

Cheers,

Joao

I don't believe this applies to those on marriage extensions, only those on the Non O A visa.

If I'm incorrect, someone will correct me shortly so stay tuned.

He is asking about the insurance required for entry and to get a Thailand Pass.

THe $50,000 insurance that includes covid 19 coverage is required.

Does that mean if I left Thailand with a re-entry permit for a short holiday, upon my return I would also require to take out this insurance regardless if I am on a marriage extension ?

I have private cover, if that helps ?

The world is changing too quick for me to keep up it appears.

Yes, that would be the requirement. Your insurance company will have to state you're covered up to 50k for Covid issues.

Yes you would. It is required for everybody entering the country and for the Thailand pass that is mandatory.

If it includes treatment for covid 19 up to $50,000 it would be accepted.

Ok, so I would request a letter from my insurer stating that and apply for the Thailand pass.

I think I will sit tight till all of this madness ends, hoping it does, not in a hurry to go anywhere soon except domestically next month, that said, have to keep up with it all.

until O- visa expieres or place 999 in the Thaipass then 30 days accepted:)

You did this personally?

Why not just state duration of stay is 30 days?

OP, wasn't asking about enter with non O but rather an extension with reentry permit.

Because the rule is to be insured until the date for renewing the visa in your passport in case you want to stay in T. more than 30 days….

Where is source of this rule.

So one example....Someone returns to Thailand with 11 months left on their reentry permit and requires 11 months of insurance?

Or anyone with a valid non O-A visa would require 12 months insurance.
