BANGKOK, (TNA) – The government succeeded in administering 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines within this year as it earlier promised, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha wrote on his Facebook account.

 

On his “Prayut Chan-o-cha” Facebook page, the prime minister wrote that the inoculation started in the country on Feb 28 and the 100-million-dose goal was accomplished within 265 days. Of the 100 million doses, more than 50 million were the first jabs which covered 70% of the Thai population, 44 million doses were the second jabs for 61% of the population and 5 million jabs were for the third doses for 6% of Thai. people.

 

He also wrote that he was happy with Thailand ranking 5 th  in the Global Health Security (GHS) Index among 195 countries. In Asia, the country ranked 1 st . Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security of the United States compiled the rankings this year.

Amazing that he did not mention that Thailand is ranked 88th (and going down) in item 6 :

Joke at side…it seems that Chinese vaccines are not going to protect much of the new and future variants.

Data shows that Asia’s most widely used vaccines — including those made by AstraZeneca, Sinovac and Sinopharm — show no ability to stop Omicron infections six months after vaccination. (Most vaccines still seem to provide a significant degree of protection against serious illness from Omicron.)

So he's happy with just over 60% double vac. Get to 80% and then start patting yourselves on the back. Third shots going in and still 10% odd awaiting their second. Mind boggles and he forgot to mention the 4th jabs too.

I would keep digging as it looks like Pfizer is the flakiest of the main jabs per period on omicron. Of course, nice names and marketing are all the difference right. 

Happy to close the country down again and so happy with the horrendous pm2.5 air pollution. ????
