Paying for UK passport renewal

Featured Replies

Has anybody paid for new UK passport at the Bangkok office using:

1. Krungsri Debit card (visa)

2. KTC credit card

Thanks in advance

You don't pay in the office you complete a payment form which goes along with your application.  You are charged from the UK in sterling.  There is no reason why your cards wont work provided they work outside Thailand and will work with "cardholder not present" transactions.

I gave Krungsri a call and was advised to enroll in 'visa verified'.  The final page informed me that I am now able to make online purchases.  I guess 'cardholder not present' means much the same.  I have read of other expats using Thai bank debit cards.

Yes the key to this with a Thai bank or credit card is ensuring it is cleared for online payments.  In the end, I used a KTC mastercard and phoned customer services beforehand.  Happy to say everything went smoothly.
