Popular Post webfact Posted February 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 2, 2022 Picture: Siam Rath The commander of Region 7 Lt-Gen Thanayut Wuthijajuthamrong has ordered the immediate transfer to inactive duties of a police station chief and four senior subordinates after a gambling arrest. The five cops will be shuffling paper at Region 7 HQ while an investigation takes place, reported Siam Rath. Siam Rath reported that on Monday a Region 7 investigation team headed by Lt-Col Seni Wetchaphat arrested Khamron Klamphabut and 19 associates who were playing Hi-Lo (a gambling game) in the woods in Don Pru sub-district. They were also gathering in contravention of Suphanburi Covid-19 restrictions. This was in the Si Prachan police jurisdiction. The transfer order relates to the chief Pol Col Raphop Jampangern and four other officers. ASEAN NOW notes that this is a standard reaction to when gambling is found to be going on. Often it is happening as police turn a blind eye or even actively benefit by way of back handers from the illegal activity. So that transfer is valid and justified.

Sydebolle Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Can someone tell me, who is the minister in charge of the Ministry of Inactive Posts please? Must be by far the biggest of 'em all. In normal countries such police officers would be fired on the spot, dishonourably discharged and see the slammer from the inside for a while. But then - define normal! 1
