WISE transfers taking a minimum of 2 days now?!
Nobody knows for sure but I expect permanent. Bangkok Bank transfers appear to all get made just after 2:00pm on the day after Wise is funded. Same day if you're early enough in the morning. They also appear to all be coded as International Transfers. I'm not familiar with USA banks but there also appears to be issues in getting money from your banks to Wise, but these aren't new. -

Gold, the undisputed "safe harbor". Or is it?
Thanks for calculating this for me. I expected something like that. If Elon should have to leave the country in a hurry, he would not leave the country with 9000 trucks in his wake, heading for Eastern Timbukto.😉 Like I said, Siler is too heavy and costs too little. Rats! -

Lindsey Graham tells WSJ he's willing to act without Trump to end 'thug' Putin
Gives him an issue to plant his flag on. I have found that he is often alot of bluster and talk, and very little action. -

What's the dullest place in Thailand?
No I did not forget. Transit arrivals are not processed as tourists unless they pass immigration. Let's look at the Vietnam data in more detail. Vietnam had 17.58 million foreign tourists in 2024. 2.5 million arrived by road, i.e. short time, and day trippers similar to the traffic from Malaysia into Thailand. Yes, visitors on average stay 11 nights in Vietnam while visitors to Thailand stay an average of 8 nights. However, Thailand still retains a much higher volume of "luxury" class visitors. Vietnam does not have the volume of resorts or hotels. It will one day, but just not now. Thailand is not keen on the backpacker segment and is priced accordingly. Vietnam is still cheap in some regions. Most of Vietnam's tourists are Asian and their "wants" are very very different from western tourists. The Asians want culture, food, shopping, sightseeing, some outdoor activity and do not sit on beaches. Westerners come for the beach, sun, and for many the sex tourism. In Thailand, higher end westerners come for golf and they are evident in Phuket and Hua Hin, but much of the foreign golf visitors are Asian, especially Japanese and Korean. Golf tourism is just starting in Vietnam.
