Renew extension of stay while out of the country - possible?

Can anyone please advise if it's possible to renew an annual extension of stay based on marriage while outside of Thailand? (Needed, to keep the work permit active).
If possible, I don't want to travel to Thailand with the complications of all this Covid/Quarantine business, just to renew the visa (extension). The Thai wife is in Thailand at the moment.

Agree, just start over again.

But not so sure about “cannot”. If one is game enough, could they not securely post (or give to a visiting friend/family member) their passport to their reliable Thai-based visa agent maybe ???? ?
Would never do it (!), but just challenging the “cannot” advice.

Very, very difficult, if the passport does not have the entry stamp.......

Ensure that you re-enter the kingdom with 'Visa upon Entry' if eligible or a Tourist Visa. Anything else is problematic.

What is a "visa on entry"?

There are 30 day visa exempt entries and a 15 day visa on arrival for those from 18 countries.

I still have 15 months left on my work permit. Would prefer to not lose that and have to start that from scratch also.

Does expiry of my current extension of stay invalidate my work permit?

I've been doing online 90 day reports for a few years, but because I'm about to get a new passport I believe the next 90 day has to be done in person. The last time I did a report at Jomtien it was only necessary to present your passport, now I believe there are a couple of forms to fill out. I have been at the same address for 16 years, do I still have to fill out a TM30?

Officially, you must remain within the jurisdiction of the embassy while they are processing the application. Pretend you dropped your passport off at the embassy like the old days. That's still how the embassy sees it. Regional embassies do in-fact call people in for interviews or request every page of your passport with proof of the current date in order to check that you have not traveled when they feel the need.
