Omicron is in the rear view mirror in the UK.

Omicron 'infections' are in the rear view mirror, long COVID is on-going.

Here in the UK, omicron has a fatality rate close to flu and no one talks about long covid being associated with it. Heavy cold or flu symptoms yes but not all this nonsense. Thailand seems

  • Omicron ripped through my neighborhood and I ended up with 7 very close neighbors who caught it.  None of them described it as a 'cold'.  One couple weren't vaccinated and they were sick for an extend

For an unbiased assessment, look at excess death rate, a better indicator for the effect of Covid-19. In the last 6 months of 2021 in the UK, excess deaths were between 5-10% every week. So not insignificant and not just a 'bit of flu' but still well below the previous 2 waves, when they reached up to 120% and 45%. After each wave you get a period of negative excess mortality, because yes, SOME of the people who died previously did have health issues and would have died within say 6 months. However, that is not dying 'with Covid-19' their lives were shortened by it.

Long Covid still occurring, but no claims yet of a massive increase in it, which considering the high number of infections, would have occurred if Long Covid was still as likely.

Omicron isn't the same as Delta.

I don't know why you don't want to move on.

I have posted the UK's experience and how the country has moved on.

All you had to do was watch the six nations rugby at the weekend.

Maskless packed stadiums with people celebrating living again.

You can't live as if your dead.

Get tripled jabbed, live your life and lose the fear.

Developed countries are.

Not all countries are the UK and not all developed countries are moving on. The UK is not the poster child for how to deal with the covid pandemic.

"While Omicron has been branded by some as a ‘milder’ variant, the high transmission rate and ability to cause breakthrough infections means the seven-day moving average for daily deaths is currently more than three times higher than it has been at any other point during the pandemic – despite Australia’s high vaccination rates.

Professor Lau said the public’s perception of this may mean GPs find themselves having to argue the benefits of vaccination"

We have to accept asia will not come back for a long time while air travel returns to near normal in US and Europe it will barely make 50% in SEA.

While china is closed most will continue to restrict even with the milder omicrom

Thailand seems to want to live in a state of fear.

I get the impression that they look at what is happening elsewhere, wait a few months and then announce the same but claiming it as entirely their own ideas. But then they still love the control, so have to maintain a lot of petty regulations.
