Ukraine confirms Iranian military advisers helping Russia have been killed in Crimea

 

Ukraine officials have confirmed that Iranian military advisers have been killed in Crimea, a news report has stated. The top security officials of Ukraine have also stated that any other Iranians on occupied Ukrainian territory in support of Moscow’s invasion would also be targeted.

 

Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of Ukraine’s national security and defence council, said Iranians were present in Crimea to help Russia pilot the Shahed-136 armed drones supplied by the Tehran government, but did not say how many Ukraine had killed.

 

In an interview in Kyiv, Mr Danilov said: "You shouldn’t be where you shouldn’t be.

Can’t find a link for this yet (have a link to a Dutch newspaper, but I’m guessing that’s pretty useless), but apparently today, in his meeting with mothers of Russian soldiers, Putin said: “don’t believe everything you see on tv, a lot of it is fake. The internet is full of lies, don’t trust it”.

He’s not wrong there, but I’m pretty sure he forgot to add that pretty much all of the information coming from the Kremlin or Russian media is utter BS, nothing but lies, misinformation, fake news and hysterical warmongering rubbish.

Well, when one country attacks and tries to destroy another country, It's difficult not to fall into "manicheism". It's not Ukraine or NATO which attacked Russia. The fact is that (nearly) no country wants to remain under threat or influence from Russia, because of its past imperialist and dominant behaviour. And on top of it, with an autocratic regime which has not even been able to ensure the economic development and the wellbeing of its citizens. 

Russia may resent it, but has to blame itself for this situation. You reap what you sow.

Even if ‘we’ inflamed the situation by a few misjudged decisions, that doesn’t give Russia the right to do what it is doing now.
And perhaps the problem is that not enough people see yet that Putin and his cronies (especially that creep Prigozhin) really ARE the devil incarnate. Didn’t you get what they wanted to do to Ukraine and its people? Ukraine had no right to exist anyway, and Ukrainians were subhumans who needed to be eradicated. Think ‘the final solution’ from WWII (or ‘die Endlösung’ in German, if you will), that’s pretty much what Russia wanted to do with the Ukrainians.

What the Russian army and its allies are doing in Ukraine is absolutely horrendous, committing the most vile and disgusting war crimes on a daily basis. And this is not done by an out of control army, but very obviously because the soldiers have been ordered to behave like thugs, and to rape, torture and kill indiscriminately.

So yes, Putin really is the devil incarnate, and the sooner everyone starts to recognize that as a fact, the better it will be.

Plan A failed - collapse the Russian economy, plan B failed - destroy them through an influx of Western weapons. We're now into plan C. Whatever you say, the Russians seem to be in it for the long haul, an existential crisis for them. And the Russians are not so good at controlling the narrative but very good at war. They did defeat the Germans after all. Nobody with any sense goes up against the Russians militarily. This is basically a civil war, look at how the Slavic Ukrainians are absorbing losses, then transfer that to the Russian side. These are hard bas@#rds on both sides. Your average man bun man with a handbag ain't gonna cut it, 555. Thankfully, ain't my fight.

Plan A: Took longer than expected but it certainly has not failed. Have you noted that Russia is running out of missiles, ammunition, equipment for its troops and the economy is in steep decline?

 

Western sanctions catch up with Russia’s wartime economy

The influx of weapons were for defensive measures only, however Ukraine has already taken back more territory than Russia captured since its invasion. Its working and its long haul. Have you missed all the retreats from previously annexed territories that Russia claimed and occupied?

Refer to Plan A and don't forget the help the Russians received in defeating the Germans including the huge amounts of lend lease military equipment from the US

So what? They still received $180 billion worth in today’s currency and I’m quite sure it helped the Russians defeat the Germans on the eastern front in the end. Without that aid I’m not at all sure the Russians would have been able to do that.

My post was about the "pre-invasion" period, and a reply to a post claiming that the OSCE reports at that time were recording attacks from Ukraine. My reply (I had problems with the quoting function on my phone), was that attacks from both sides were recorded in these reports.
