Nato pledges to provide more weapons and fix power grid

Nato has pledged to give more weapons to Ukraine and help fix critical energy infrastructure badly damaged by massive Russian missile and drone strikes.

At a summit in Bucharest, the secretary general of the military alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, accused Moscow of "trying to use winter as a weapon of war".

The Russian strikes have left millions of Ukrainians without electricity and running water in freezing temperatures.

Ukraine has for months been asking Nato for more advanced air defence systems.

Also remember ,Russian soldiers are already underfed, under equipped

and demoralized.

The Ukrainian soldiers are welcomed with open arms and given hospitality and food by their own citizens .

No matter which way you look at it,if the Russian government had any

sense of reality they would stop this senseless war.

It will only get worse for them if they try to hold on.

why provide more weapons if they can't use them freely, enough with defensive weapons move to offensive ones as that's the only language Russia understands... back in my football days my coach always said that the best defense is to attack.

can't understand why the US and Nato don't want Ukraine to fire into Russia territory, I agree with Latvia

Ukraine Should Be Free to Hit Military Targets in Russia, Latvia Says

All been explained before. Don't you read all the posts?

IMO if Ukraine uses a US or British weapon to attack the Russian land, it's virtually a declaration of war by the US or Britain, and possibly WW3 ensues.

Do you want everyone you know to die in a nuclear war?

Also, if Russia was actually being invaded by Ukraine, do you think they wouldn't use nuclear weapons against them?

Ukraine surrender hotline for Russian soldiers gets 100 callers per day since September. Some calls were from individual while some from groups. Officials said that they had over 3,500 contacts. This is no small number wanting to surrender. Adds up to a Brigade size.

Lets get this done!! Important announcement from Ursula von der Leyen

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposed creating a special international court to probe Russian actions in Ukraine and using frozen Russian assets to help rebuild the nation.

Statement by President von der Leyen on Russian accountability and the use of Russian frozen assets

Russia must also pay financially for the devastation that it caused, the damage suffered by Ukraine is estimated at 600 billion euros, Russia and its oligarchs have to compensate Ukraine for the damage and cover the costs for rebuilding the country.

And we have the means to make Russia pay, we have blocked 300 billion euros of the Russian Central Bank reserves and we have frozen 19 billion euros of Russian oligarchs' money.

In the short term, we could create, with our partners, a structure to manage these funds and invest them. We would then use the proceeds for Ukraine.
