Anyone have a Pinsentry for UK bank?

Featured Replies

I am looking for a Pinsentry card reader for UK banks... I can pick up in Samui or Phangan

Happy to pay a fee - Barclays can only send one to a UK address and right now that is no good to me.

Can anyone help?

That's not true, they (Barclays) have sent at least two to my address in Thailand. They then send the ID card two weeks later.

No need to accuse anyone of lying. It often depends on the customer service rep you get. I've had no joy.

I have had debit cards sent out here before.

I'm accusing the person from Barclays that you contacted, being 'mis-informed'.

Maybe it's because I bank with them in Jersey and their clients are nearly all expats.

Obviously, there's a difference between off-shore banks and UK banks.

Seems to me that the same rules would apply in the same company (Barclays doesn't operate the same as Thai immigration).

Can't you have it sent to a UK address and then have it couriered to you?

I don't need anything sending to me, thanks.

Righto.....

Hi

I'm not sure if you are aware but you do not require a physical card reader for Pin Sentry use'

If you have a mobile phone, your debit card and associated PIN you can load Barclays

Mobile Banking App on your phone and use Mobile Pin Sentry

You are right. And previously this was a problem as I had a different SIM card (number) linked to my account that wasn't active....

... Now the nice people at Barclays have changed my number and everything is OK I have the mobile app

Thanks for your responses everyone. Mods can close thread if you want

Just seen this thread. Glad you got it sorted. If you (or someone else) still needs a Barclays Pin Sentry, I have one her in Samui that I do not use. PM me if you need it
