Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha hailed, on Monday, the resumption of ties between Thailand and Saudi Arabia and said that relations between the two countries were “back to normal.”

The prime minister added that Thailand was looking to increase cooperation between the two countries including the exchange of ambassadors and increasing Thai exports.

“Thailand and Saudi Arabia have restored the relationship back to a normal level,” the prime minister said.

All thanks to the bold, resourceful, and far-sighted Hero-General-Czar-Statesman. The people celebrate his wondrous leadership and joyously sing his praises.

Ok, it´s only when abnormal states that something is normal we have a problem. So, how is the case here?

Saudi's have long memories, back to normal I don't think so.

Saudi will use what it needs from Thailand, nothing more.

PS: Happy Birthday.

Somewhere else to stash the loot. A new bolt hole for when the wheels come off, a good move when you consider the current fashion for sanctions and seizing assets!

We will probably never know:

1. What happened to the Blue Diamond?

2. Who has it now?

3. Whether any of the remaining jewelry was recovered and returned?

4. Whether Thailand paid reparations to normalise relations?

5. Whether Thailand apologised?

6. Why no-one has ever been caught and punished for the murders of Saudi diplomats in central Bangkok?

All the important questions journalists here refuse to ask.

One abusive regime is normal to another human rights abuser nothing to be proud of there, a complete disgrace.

Just make sure that none of your underlings from Chiang Mai creep into the Prince's private chambers with the intention to check on the content of the safe.

Last time a few hundert kilogrammes disappeared, got flown to Bangkok without charging excess luggage or import duty fees. It soured the soup for 30+ years and cost a few people - unnecessarily - their lives ????

All the important questions journalists here refuse to ask.

1) something of an "open secret". The march of time and human frailty has resulted in it being "surplus to requirements".

2) Someone 6500km to the west.

4) Almost certainly - if only to open opportunities for lucrative business and/or to stache money.

Questions 3,5 and 6 are covered by the answer to question 4.

Crown Prince of Saudi is changing course.

Crown Prince refused to answer Biden phone call earlier this month, received the Thai PM this year,   strengthen the trade with PRC with surprise factor of negotiation in selling Saudi oil to PRC based on RMB Yuan pricing rather than greenback.

Add on the normalizing Saudi-Thailand relationship.

All are pointing to Crown Prince is turning East and thinking of the long game.

Although Saudi Arabia has been linked to Islamic Jihad Movements, its willingness to risk its alliance with America and jeopardise its own internal Security and the power of the Monarchy itself remains to be seen.
