A great start.  Let's do the same to the bikes.

Logically reselling the bikes is more appropriate since it can recover the costs of the operation, and of course line certain pockets since individuals involved will get a percentage of the sale price. The exhausts can't be resold because they are illegal hnce they are publicly destroyed.

A better idea would be to attach a hose to the exhausts and put it up the area of the bike owner where the sun does not shine.

Yeah, but then we'd also lose a bunch of expats around the country.  The ones that claim their bike is safer because you can hear them coming from 3 miles away.

"Logically reselling the bikes is more appropriate..."

Logically?

The bikes couldn't be sold by the police, either, as that would be illegal because the bikes belong to the owners.

That would be bad?   Oh, yes, sorry, of course it would, it would be dreadful.
