And some of them will have enough people who listen to them and they can complain together. I guess this is kind of their version of happiness. ???? In Saudi I had a friend that used to visit me frequently for a lengthy "hate Saudi" session that we enjoyed immensely. We were both there for the money, period.

KhunLA Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 (edited) Maybe people simply care not to waste any time reading drivel from uneducated folks. Or trolls that simply like to argue for the sake of. People can write whatever pleases them, it's a free world, almost, just as I prefer not to read it. Just exercising my right to choose. Really does make the forum a more pleasant read. Popular Post RamenRaven Posted April 16, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 16, 2022 Self-selection. The positive happy-going guys too busy getting out there, enjoying Thailand and having a blast. Hence, no time to obsessively post on forums. But the grumpy guys have nowhere else to go but to become keyboard warriors, because it's not cool to be a grumpy sour-faced guy in the Land of Smiles, where looking angry is impolite and looked down upon. Life ain't perfect. The glass is always either half full or half empty depending on how you look at things. Just enjoy what you have and you will be happy wherever you are. Just my 2 cents. 1 2

That’s because you’re not pulling your weight on the Weights forum. You’re always going to run into the obstreperous, argumentative and ignorantly opinionated in the Pub. You would not be here if you did not want to strike up a conversation with us!

Be careful people I like my mental health problems. I wouldn't be cranky old phukker me if I was right in the head. I've found my problems to be very useful, educational actually. For example, I learned how to make a soundproof room so people can't hear me scream.

Obviously, there is no outlet here for folk like this. Not having that outlet eats away at the soul of some people.

Popular Post spidermike007 Posted April 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 17, 2022 (edited) Most of us need someplace to vent. We could talk about the nice neighbor, or the hilarious taxi driver, but not particularly amusing. Nearly every time I see someone complaining, or observing a shortfall within Thailand, some guy, who has not taken the time to think things through, nor to devote any focus or effort to a reasonable reply, says something like "Perhaps Thailand is not for you", or maybe you should leave, or the top prize, "if you do not like it here, go back to your own country". Hard to even respond to such statements. Why? Because I have some issues with the place? Sorry to inform you, but the nature of a discerning mind, is to have issues. Though absolute contentment must be a beautiful state of mind, it is not something most of us are blessed with, in case you have not noticed. The fact that I complain, does not mean I do not love Thailand, nor most of it's people. I do. I love my life here. I have a very good life here. But, I do have some complaints, and there are some things I would love to see improved. And my "mental health issues" are no worse than the next guy. These are trying times, in case you have not noticed. Edited April 17, 2022 by spidermike007 3

Hard to even respond to such statements. I agree with you, and I almost said something similar in response to the poster above that said "Why are you in Thailand", I find these comments really irritating and lazy, but what's the point, they won't get it. I have very deep roots in Thailand and I'm here through the necessities resulting from that fact, so I'm here come what may. My wife and I sometimes discuss the possibility of retiring to New Zealand in the future, but this is where our lives are, and our children's lives. . . So, does that mean I have to like absolutely anything and everything here? Hell no. What an absurd notion. Edited April 17, 2022 by Led Lolly Yellow Lolly 2 1
