If she is a bona fide student, then she can work up to 20 hours per week. In holiday-time, she can work 40 hours per week.

Scouse.

ok thats good, she is doing a 1 year english course at an international college....still not sure about this "work must be authorised" bit on the visa

cheers

Rest assured. The Scouser is (almost) correct. She can work 20hours/wk term time without asking permission from anyone.

There is no restriction on hours worked outside term time (other than the EU working time directive as it applies to the UK) despite what many websites and the scouser says.

Hi,

My girlfriend is here in a student visa and her visa says the same thing and we took advice and the 20 hours a week term time and full time in the holidays is spot on like the scouser said and you donrt need to do anything else just get a job.
