Singha Light has been rebranded its now with a lower alcohol content 3.5% and is now called MyBeer

Other way around actually. MyBeer is 4.5%. The now obsolete Singha light was 3,5.

No, it´s not. Light beer is a beer that has been brewed in a way, that does not give it the same high percentage of alcohol. It´s not the same beer with half deciliter of water added in the bottle.

  • I miss the light beer vs regular beer. Light beer has same alcohol content but 1/2 the calories of regular beer, usually around 100 calories.    Trying to cut the sugar and morbid illness it

  • Since when did Thai Beer have 'taste' ?

Old thread, but large bottles of Sam Miguel Light are no longer it seems, shame, it was my "at home beer"

I did an AI search, this is the reason -

Large bottles of San Miguel Light seem to have disappeared or become rare in Thailand due to shifts in local beer market focus (more towards Leo, Chang, Singha), changing consumer tastes (health-conscious options like San Mig Zero), distribution changes (like Budweiser taking over the license from Carlsberg), and potentially reduced demand for large formats in favor of smaller, more convenient sizes, though exact reasons vary by location and time

Distribution & Licensing: Carlsberg lost the San Miguel license to Budweiser Brewing Group in July 2024, which can alter product availability.

They are available in the North. Makro.

It is the dearth of Tiger that saddens me. Although I did recently find one local cafe with Tiger draught 🥳

I have a mate who complains about the amount of local bars that pop-up and then close. All bars here sell the same swill; Chang, Leo and Singha so it is no wonder they mostly fail. We do have a couple that offer Asahi but just a couple. Seems bar owners have no imagination or maybe the consumers don't.

Thanks, I will try the south Makro.
