Is this because we have a substantial number of naïve Indian tourists? Or is it some insurance scam commonplace with them?

True to pattern another tourist goes poncing off to beach road without securing his valuables. Perhaps if he knew full disclosure to intl media would result he would not admit to his mongering. Or maybe it is all part of the plan? Anyway, this kind of thing is hardly still newsworthy..
Popular Post RandiRona
If they are purchasing a travel insurance which cover valuables then yes it is a scam if not then they need to start thinking by their head, not the one which is making them travel to Thailand!

welshguy
Oh dear , Oh dear, Oh dear! My guess is, the Indian Travel insurers will soon either top insuring gold necklaces "stolen by ladies/ladyboys of the night!" or else charge a hefty premium !! spidermike007
This flaming idiot sounds like he left it right out in the open and expected the lady of the night, a complete stranger, to be a woman of total honor. Anyone in their right mind has the sense to lock their valuables and cash up. If not in a safe, then in a locked piece of luggage. Out of sight, out of mind, and out of harms way. Very, very basic survival skills. Sorry, but my heart does not bleed for fools.
