OK, I'm confused. You live in thailand? Were you considering educating your daughter in the U.S.?

But then you found this story and what, changed your mind?

I'd euthanize my child before sending them to a thai "school".

Why do you think so many higher end thais send their kids to school in the U.S. and the U.K.?

Seen that a lot in recent TV shows...

TV shows? Huh? You do realize these are fictional, and entertainment, right?

Oh, I see it's from the Washington Examiner. /facepalm

The attorneys' letter accused the school district

So your beef is with the school district?

Honestly one minor incident sets you off?

Unfortunately that does not happen only in one school or one district. Many schools and universities have more and more crazy ideas like that. And it is getting worse all the time.

Exactly. Their game is "owning the libs" culture wars, and nothing about productive policy proposals.

Is today’s Republican Party primarily a cult of personality or a seditious conspiracy? I can argue either side of that question. But it is clear that the GOP is no longer a political organization or movement in the traditional sense.

Exactly. The homophobes get their pantys in a bunch over a trans high school kid in some obscure town in Wisconsin so they end up voting for tax cuts for the rich.

Fact is, these trans kids have a suicide rate 10x the average so the liberals want the school districts to promote tolerance and acceptance but right wing media twists it and convinces the rubes that “Democrats want to turn your little boys into girls!”

So,  do you agree or disagree with the kids getting in trouble for not using correct pronoun or, or are you saying it's all a lie. And, never happened?

You didn't address the article, at least do that. Do you agree or disagree with the article. Should people be forced to use certain pronouns?

Jesus preached “love thy neighbor.”

Christian conservatives in the USA would likely demonize Jesus as a woke, liberal, Middle Eastern, anti American socialist.

Today, Jesus, Mary & Joseph would get more support and be welcomed in the Atheist community before being accepted by MAGA Christians.

Agreed?

You can't just sweep these stories under a rug and pretend they aren't happening.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t it you who posted a link to this ‘news item’ from msn.com?

If that is indeed correct, please explain which rug it is that these stories are being swept under?

Look at that cow over there in the field. It's eating grass.

I think using the word ' it ' for those uncomfortable being ' sexually pigeonholed ' would make things a lot simpler.

We use it on animals and humans are a kind of animal so ............why not ?

Good luck with that.

Do you have kids attending Thai schools?

Not any more I don’t.

Both my children attended what is reputed to be amongst Thailand’s best private schools, paid for by my employer.

When the eldest was 8 years old we moved back home for the specific reason of getting them both into public (government) schools.

There education at private schools in Thailand was free to us, but at a cost of a balanced and full education to our children.

We absolutely made the right decision, as demonstrated by our children’s academic progress.

And our experience was with the Thai private schools, I shudder to think of what goes on in Thai government schools.

Thank you for sharing, now what's your view on sexual harassment charges filed against grade schoolers for using the wrong pronoun? I bet you've never come against anything so crazy during your kids school years.

I raised one kid in the US and used private schools then.......... for a better education. Now, it would be to avoid the craziness of public education.

Better than sending it to an F'd up American school like the one in the article.

And there are some Thai schools that produce students who go on to Oxford and Cambridge.

Harassment and bullying has always been a part of misbehavior in schools, sadly it has not always been investigated or otherwise dealt with.

Grade school kids harassing and bullying other grade school kids wrt their gender is troubling behavior.

I don’t feel triggered by reports that such behavior is being investigated.

The Thais are very tolerant of the ladyboy situation. It's not even an "issue" in Thailand. Having them in the mix is rather pleasant if you ask me. Isn't it nice that a person can be what they want to be here in the land of smiles.

Sadly in the USA, the right wing media has weaponized the intolerant & is intent on keeping the viewers in a tizzy.

This week, the homophobes are losing sleep over "pronouns." Last week it was "bathrooms" that had them popping vessels.

A week before they were all in tears over "cancel culture" & "statues."  In a few more months the right wing press will once again roll out the "war on Christmas" (they don't want to say happy holidays!!!)... and no doubt a steady dose of outrage over "Caravans of Immigrants, AntiFa and BLM."

Precisely.
