My Thai partner says not all Healthcare is free for Thais at Government Hospitals apart from having a kid, I was always thought apart from the 30฿ fee they didn’t pay anything. The reason I am asking is her friend has cysts on her ovaries and said she would have to pay for treatment even at a Government Hospital ?

My partner has not worked for 8 years, her House Registration is in Issan, we live in Pattaya, our son has been in hospital in the government hospital in Pattaya for a few days with chest infections when he was younger, House Registration in Issan, no cost apart from second time when the bed available was in a VIP Room which we had to pay for.

Top and bottom would my partner have to pay for any healthcare or being hospitalised.

Your partners costs would be the same as your sons.

If you didn't pay anything your partner would stay in a general public ward.

It is free at the place of house registration. 

It may be free at other government hospitals,  but don't count on it.

Operation (of ovary cysts) probably not free.
