Are You Taking Vitamin D3?

Stubby

Recommended Posts

Howdy, Folks.

Is anyone on here taking vitamin D3 supplements? And if yes, would you mind telling me how much you pay for how many and at what strength?

I've been paying around 600 Baht for 600 x 1000 IU. It's all the high-street pharmacies seem to sell.

But online, I can see products such as 240 and 250 D3 supplements at 2,000 IU for less than 280 Baht. I asked one of the women in my local pharmacy about that, and she said not to trust online supplements. She's probably right.

So, if I want 2000 IU, is my only choice really to fork out 1,200 Baht for two bottles of 1000 IU?

Just curious, that's all. Thank you in advance.

Refreshing to see these two comments here.

The first comment is priceless. Do not rely on what somebody tells you and do not rely on Govt suggested protocols. Rely on what your body tells you through bloodwork.

I believe I Herb is located in San Diego and is of very good quality and ships to Thailand.

I get my vitamin C (in the form of ascorbic acid) there.

Thank you,

Even my bloodwork is in norm, I can take supplements, because norm doesnt say much really. But you need to know what is dangerous high levels, and also interactions between supplements and medication if using.

Some is deficient in Thailand even living under the sun, so there is reasons to take vitamin d even living in Thailand the older you get. Some have sensitiv skin, potential skin cancer, health issues.

when it comes to calcium, zinc, and other rhings, you need to check if you need, and even better eat vegetables and more fruit for quercetin. Waste of money and not even clinical proved it helps for anything more than just a little bit fresh vegetable and little bit fruit every day.

I trust Iherb have better and genuine quality product’s more than any other online store or pharmacy in thailand.

Good points made. You can’t necessarily trust the norms 100% but they do give you some idea. Another issue is does your body absorb the supplement well and does it have the necessary combinations with other body ingredients to make what it’s supposed to make.

The solution for me is to do energy testing with a pendulum or someone skilled in the subtle touch of energy testing. The body can give yes no answers to questions through the physical strength of the answers-a bit hard to describe. Through an amazing coincidence I was able to find such a person in Bangkok.

Like this described here? Never done, or thought about, but I had a friends gf who where sick for years, and started with a healer who practiced similar to what described here, and from no respond or solution from other specialists and dr’s, he managed to get her back on feet and back to work again. Still going strong 20 years later sad been very productive tv and movie producer. So even I do not believe, why not if it help some few back on track.

That's nonsense

I have started calcium+D from the beginning of covid. I don't consume dairy products or calcium fortified milks.

Just finishing the second bottle 500 pills and will have a brake from it. But will stock up for future covid.

I have read recommendation for using it at the beginning of pandemic, together with some other supplements.

My family and myself have survived delta, even all our neighbours had it for many months the last summer.

You can argue with these and probably hundreds more research

You can get 5000 IU vitamin D by Puritan's Pride (good brand) on Lazada for 365 baht. The ideal mix is with quercetin (400-500 mg) + zinc (10-20 mg) + vitamin C (500-1000 mg) taken daily. All this can be found on Lazada at reasonable prices, good quality too. Try not to go for the cheapest, local brands but for something Western, there are lots of Australian and American brands on Lazada. In case of doubt, you can paste the product reference in Google and look for Amazon reviews.

Thank you, RS, that's interesting.

I have seen some incredible deals online, but I was put off by what the lady said about not trusting online supplements. That's why I posted here. I think she was insinuating they were probably not the products they claim to be. Of course, the only way to know is to wait a couple of months and get tested for D3 levels. Despite that, I have made a note of your suggestion in case I have no luck in the real-world.

First of all, find out your needs by doing bloodwork.

I order what I need from Iherb.

Thanks, Hummin, it's another online suggestion, though. I may go down that route if I don't have any joy in local stores. And yes, I will get D3 levels checked at my next medical checkup, but it's not for a while. Still, I know that lack adequate exposure to sunshine the past few months will mean low levels.

Hi folks.

I just want to apologize for my late response. Usually, this forum notifies me of any updates, but I didn't get auto-announcements this time, hence my absence. I only popped in this morning as I was curious that there wasn't a single response. Then I saw all these replies. Strange! I've go to pop out now, but I'll go through them all this evening when I get back home.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond.

The muscle testing that chiropractors use I am aware of and made use of for many years starting in the mid 80s.

I don’t think that it’s the same as the holding the arm out and testing the strength of the arm in response to a particular item or substance. There are three different versions of the energy testing that I’ve encountered. The first one was very similar to the outstretched arm which is a good way to demonstrate to someone what this is about if they are interested in having some concrete personal experience. In fact I think the man in Bangkok does this as an introduction if one wishes.  The second person I encountered used some kind of electrical or magnetic system for determining reactions to substances and yes no answers to questions. I don’t know how this works.

This sort of practice is certainly quite a bit off the main road and I first became involved in it in the year 2000. I can say that at least three things happened in my life to prepare me to be willing to accept such a practice.  So I understand the reluctance to believe.

But like I told my brother. I was tired of not knowing what my body really needed and if a supplement was necessary or not for me. For example to increase immune system strength it is recommended in many quarters to take vitamin C, vitamin D3 with K2, zinc, quercitin, and selenium.  After energy testing with a practitioner I came away with not needing any zinc, quercetin, nor selenium. So all I do is the vitamin C and D3/K2. On the other hand I took several liver and kidney supplements for a period of time to correct some issues.  All such practitioners are able to test the quality of the supplements as well.

By the way I just finished a seven week detox and my energy level is better and skin conditions have diminished noticeably.

Sorry if the message was longer than you desired.
