Quick heads up. In about 3 months the paper 50 and 20 notes can only be paid into your bank or post office in UK.

If you have any here in LOS not sure what you can do with them.

All the paper 50's/20's being replaced by plastic notes.

I was lucky and got rid of what I had about a month ago,

vinegar and washing up liquid managed to get all the

writing off them ,these were ones that had been rejected

over the past couple of years by money exchange ,banks

would not except them either.

 

Was a bit worried too, termites would get in the safe , no

problems now ,plastic.

Will the Thai airports be aware??

I changed £120 like new mint condition ones at Bangkok Bank in Kabin Buri a few weeks back. Bank staff surprisingly quite quick.  I did it once with Euros' and everybody in the branch, cleaner included had to check every note. Took forever.

I only got 41.08 at the time.  A bit better now........
