More rail strikes are "extremely likely" if talks between rail bosses and unions continue to fail, the union at the centre of the dispute has said.

 

RMT boss Mick Lynch accused the government of blocking a deal, a claim denied by the government.

For the second time this week a walkout by rail workers has left travellers facing another day of disruption.

 

Trains have ground to a halt across much of England, Wales and Scotland, with about half the network closed.

If ever there was a case of "fire and Re-Hire" then train drivers must be prime candidates. £59,000 GBP for a 35 hour week - yes please! True that station staff and others on the railways are on much less. They likely deserve a raise. ASLEF now talking about strikes (they represent most train drivers). For most on TVF or AseanNow then it's all in the past. Many here left the UK to enjoy better lives and simpler retirements without all this BS. The Summer of discontent is here. Bills in the UK for Electric, Gas, Petrol, Diesel and food are through the roof. Some things should never have been "privatised" and at least being in Thailand with PEA/MEA there is no price gouging. £2,800 for an average household energy bill from October anyone?

Or the shabby treatment of aviation workers. Laid off because of Covid, but now we suppose we'll have to take you back under worse Terms and Conditions (sigh). What d'you mean, 'No'?
