Daily News Thai Caption: Reversed over grandchild

 

Tragedy struck in the north of Thailand yesterday when a paternal grandfather reversed his pick-up over his one year old granddaughter in the drive of a house in Nakhon Thai district of Phitsanulok.

 

Pornfah or Som suffered horrific head injuries under a left wheel and soon died. 

 

Ko, 56, was behind the wheel going out on an errand. He thought that his granddaughter was still inside the house with his wife but she had obviously followed him out, reported Daily News. 

 

The child's father said that his father doted on the child and that it was a terrible accident. He wanted the incident to serve as a reminder to other parents about what could happen.

 

He said that his daughter could already walk well. 

 

The family were devastated but not apportioning any blame. 

 

Police are investigating according to the law and have released the body of the little girl for her untimely funeral.

And to think, I always look for the dog before reversing!

What an absolute tragedy. Poor little angel, the whole family must be completely devastated, and my thoughts and prayers are with them. RIP little one.

Poor little girl. The grandad loved the little angel. RIP.

Horrific. She had just one year of life and will never get to experience the wonder of life that we all have. It makes me eternally grateful that I have survived this long and had the opportunity to have led a full life. Life is not guaranteed. Death is.

Yes. And we always make sure the dogs and the rabbit are shut in the house when we are going out in the car. 

 

It's bad the guy was not checking the baby was still inside the house! 

OMG,  so sad, so very very sad,  RIP little angel. 

I wonder if your neighbour would be as forgiving if you accidentally backed over his dog ?
