Maybe you could send Truss a message and tell her To stop speaking about things that she has no knowledge of .

BTW , when did you listen to her speech from 1994 ?

Has it not occurred to you that I might have a very long history of interest in politics?

No matter.

I’m not the topic of discussion.

Liz Truss is no longer a Liberal Democrat.

And the answer to my question?

It isn't the Labour / SNP / Liberal Democrat / Green / CON/ UKIP who are in the process of electing her. Just the ERG. Own your choice....

That is not true .

Its the Conservative party members who cast one vote each and who ever gets the most votes is the new Conservative leader

What was "clueless" about her 1994 speech ?

Has her outlook and opinion changed much in the last 28 years

Putting aside your off topic fixation on Rayner.

How does the British Government, in which Truss was a minister, handing out tens of billions of pounds to friends of Tory ministers with zero benefit to the nation fit with your ideas of ‘free market trickle down economy’?

What a load, so now MP's must not know folk with business's..????

I am sorry your socialist band of MP's haven't got friends in business....????

There were never these delays when we were in the EU, seamless travel and trade as part of the EU.

Now we're a third country, an outsider, the red tape, restrictions and prohibitive costs for access are hurting the UK in multiple ways.

Brexit- the economic elephant in the room that future leaders of the UK will have to face.

This thread is not about Brexit that the UK populace voted on..????

Yes correct.

But they aren’t selecting a candidate that has any proposals to help the rest of the nation deal with the problems they are struggling with.

Truss or Sunak, both completely out of touch, though Sunak might deliver less inflation.

You are one of those people who points out the blindingly obvious problems without offering any solutions. I've worked with many people like that.

Yes we are in a difficult situation caused by covid19 and the war in Ukraine. When I ask what Stamer Rayner Abbott Nandy Lammy etc would do, you call it whataboutism. Dodging the question.

So what do you think Labour would do? Apart from pontificating about woke issues from some Islington wine bar and hating on Israel of course.

The Tories are far from perfect but they are the best option at the moment, especially if led by Truss and not Sunak.

I believe Truss will win. The members will warm to her more than Sunak even though the MPs like Sunak.

Must be a nightmare for you guys, given her political stance. ????

Well, they could raise taxes on the wealthy. The could eliminate all those tax loopholes defended so vigorously by the Tories. They could put a stop to privatizing health care and repair the damage to NHS caused by the Tories' neglect.

It's a wonder Labour didn't think of that when they had the reigns...????

The decline of the NHS began under the Tories. As did the huge tax breaks for the wealthy.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/sep/12/nhs-hospital-trusts-to-pay-out-further-55bn-under-pfi-scheme

"An initial £13bn of private sector-funded investment in new hospitals will end up costing the NHS in England a staggering £80bn by the time all contracts come to an end, the IPPR thinktank has found."

The inflation and cuts in public services Truss’s policies will bring with them will certainly be a nightmare for the millions of people in the UK struggling with the cost of living crisis.

I don’t see the electorate warming to that.

There is no magic cash wand at this time, Ms.Truss has said a difficult couple of years to swing things around her way....

The Tories have had 12 years and look at the result.

Fairytale policies aren’t the answer.

Well they did start off with a Labour Party mess to sort out, C19 hasn't helped either, and for sure Mr. Rishi's efforts bring a question mark for the PM job, I would have thought...????

For the moment, anyway. But who knows? Maybe she will re-invent herself yet again as a passionate Marxist-Leninist should she feel the need. She clearly has no integrity or principles, so why not?

They haven't warmed to Labour either- not since the illegal invasion of Iraq and the following  disastrous war. The 'electorate' didn't want Johnson to go- it was the media and the anti populist cultural  elite who destroyed  Johnson not 'the ordinary people'.

12 very difficult  years with Brexit and covid, the latter has caused problems all round the world. Look at Russia,  China and the USA for example.

Yes, sure, blame someone else.

In the end it was his lack of integrity that was his undoing.

Yes, Boris commenting on E.U banana regulations and the shape of bananas some 20 years ago was never forgotten .

Both Truss and Sunaks past history need to be thoroughly looked at to see whether they've made any similar horrendous unforgivable comments about the shape of bananas , before either of them is given the job as PM

Your lack of an on topic response says it all really. You know he only has himself to blame.
