I watched the televised ‘Debate’ last night, it was less of a debate and more of a bunch of clowns telling fairytales.

The Tories are completely out of touch with the reality surrounding the people who they are meant to represent.

The opportunities of a massive majority flushed down the drain along with the trust that they themselves destroyed.

And meanwhile nothing is getting better, every forecast is for higher inflation, higher levels of poverty, more failing services.

Failure on every level.

I thought you were talking about previous Labour governments for a mo, always getting the elbow......????

Liz Truss trying to look like Margaret Thatcher in 1979. Hey Liz, the Iron Lady was a big supporter of the Single Market, like you used to be, and will be again.

I thought the same thing.

truss was terrible during the debate. Unconvincing, no engagement, monotonous and obsessed with saying the word deliver.

Cannot believe how badly she comes across as a public speaker.

I note that Jacob Rees-Mogg will retire to the back bench if Rishi Sunak becomes leader, will not serve in his cabinet if asked. Hmmmmmmmm....????

Rees-Moog announcing that he will leave Parliament would be better news.

His preference for an 18th century dress code is his affair, what bothers me is his desire to reintroduce 18th century political economy to the UK.

His articulation, eccentricity and politeness mask a very reactionary political character.

I am not surprised you say that, for the simple reason, he can bury any Labour Party bencher with his verbal intellect. ..................????..................????

I doubt that Corbyn would welcome a return to the politics of the 18th century.

I dunno, anything is worth a try for the Labour Party, everything else fails.......????

She was awful, absolute disaster.

Labour must be praying she wins.

Appalling performance for such an experienced politician.

I would have thought a politician's performance has nothing to do with pleasing you on the big screen, besides Socialist's will always find a fault.

On the other hand, I have watched many debates in the house where Liz has done an admirable job burying the opposition, and seems to have done an admirable job around the world doing the job she was paid for, that's what matters. ????

As I said, he is very articulate (and polite) - positive attributes - but he says little of substance. Like the rest of his ERG colleagues, when he speaks it is usually to blame the EU for all the world's woes.

Point to any of his successes as 'Minister for Brexit Opportunities'.

Perhaps his chat is difficult for some folk to understand, at times it is for me. ????

Brexit is in its early days/years, so a bit off-topic here.

Nothing to do with a majority of Johnson’s own party (pun intended) voting to get rid of him then?!

No, because its' not the party majority. It wasn't put to the party membership or the voters, only other MPs. Don't you understand that this was an opportunity for some to get a crack at the top job? It's no surprise there will be a certain amount of jostling for position.

I didn’t need to find fault…she was awful from the get go. Disastrous performance.

Your opinion of any performance means nothing, it's wild biased anyway. In the end it's solely up to the Conservative Party membership. Happy opinionating.

I've always been puzzled by the claim of some that an opinion that they don't like will have no effect on the outcomes of various political and or military struggles.. . Does that mean that you believe there are opinions expressed here at thaivisa.com that will alter outcomes from what they otherwise might have been? Can you identify what those might be?

Oh don’t get me wrong, I hope she wins because on that performance she will be an asset to the opposition both in parliament and during the next election.

Go truss

I have no difficulty understanding Rees-Moog.

Six years after the vote to leave the EU, and approaching three since we left and still no benefits. I'm not surprised you want to change the subject.

Yes, only 3 years into the transition, let's not cloud it with your 6 year thingy, eh....????

I don't need to when you keep requoting.

You and other anti-Boris, anti-Tory posters keep banging on about the details of something that is not your business but reserved for the Conservative Party members. We saw the same nonsense when Boris became PM after treasonous Theresa's resignation. You all hated that, hence the last few years of anti-Boris vitriol.

You can't choose the PM until you have Liebour in government, and that's never going to happen. So, who you gonna hate next?

Someone else who thinks predictions about the future qualify as credible evidence.

So how long will we have to wait for these perceived economic benefits? 10 years? 20? 30? Or maybe, these benefits simply do not exist.

In the meantime, even a UK government body (OBR) estimates that Brexit has - and will continue to have - negative effects (on productivity).

If you do decide to reply, it would be good if it contained a coherent counter argument.

Not interested in estimates on this and that, the UK will not be part of the future  United States of Germany, fact......????

Another poster who mistakes predictions for facts.

What's wrong with a prediction,  you would rather wait till it happens, then can do nothing about it, sitting on the fence, as Labour does......?   ????
