ericdiam
The new normal is getting boosters within the required time. So we keep is protected from severe illness. Just like a yearly flu vaccine. Now for covid booster time is shorter. Give it some time and we will get a yearly one. 1

You would be able to understand that had a time machine been able to return you to schooldays where you could have paid more attention this time…

Kids got weekly ATK tests at schools. Ah,the old schoolboy error of using anecdotal evidence in preference to properly controlled studies. I had a non seatbelt wearing uncle who crashed into a lake and claimed not wearing a belt enabled him to climb out of the car to avoid drowning. Should we now henceforth eschew seatbelts? My grandma smoked heavily all her life and lived to 100 . Should I take up smoking?

Any way the economy is more important than the people..In Sri Lanka and other places in the world they have been aware that their Government is not helping the people and they want changes. Happily in Thailand we have Prayuth who is the best we had in years ( according to him than) "Bit late as the vaccine is working after 7 days.. and the holidays start on Wednesday." Correct! I wonder if this Government has ever heard the term "pro active"? And they are probably just as confused by "locking the stable door after the horse has bolted"! ???? Colds and Flu have been around for probably as long as records exist and Covid contains both of these viruses. So if you think it will disappear think again it wont. Be nice if it did though. Sadly it is most likely to stay here. We could hope to do a 'Smallpox' thing and try to erradicate it, but given the hesitancy for many to accept vaccines these days, it could be problematic. Fortunately, we should be able to manage it with the same approach we take for flu shots. Just get your regular jabs which should contain the serum for whatever is floating around that season and you should be good to go ???? Let's enjoy the fact that we live in an age where medicine is able to keep up with the rate of introduction of new viruses and mutations.

In fact just waiting for the jab with over 1000 people waiting with you for hours is a big concern.

Hospital did all the important tests and X-ray. Doctor prescribed medicines and send me off to rest at home. I credit the vaccines for not getting the worst of covid. Vaccinated and being infected is not uncommon but vaccines preventing serious deterioration is. I had 3 jabs, am in great health and got a bad case of Covid. I'll survive but it was my worst cold in years. My local friend that drinks to excess every night and isn't vaccinated had a runny nose for a day after catching Covid. Think there might be more to the story in the coming years. The CDC has a habit of lying to us when it fits their narrative. 1 2
