Poor people hoping to win, to get them out of debt,

The strange thing is they only seem to choose the

last 2 - 3 numbers , hoping to win ,not much.

Well, they are trying to be "realistic". Winning all 6 numbers is, well... unlikely. They're already happy if they win 2k or 4k. Still unlikely as well.

I'm not surprised digital tickets sell out fast. It's easy and convenient and may even attract the younger generations who are glued on their phones 24/7.

In another news, Australian has blown 66 billion dollars on the pokies alone since they have been introduced 30 years ago...

I never gamble on lottery tickets , well  I never gamble at all,

Many years ago went on family holiday to Las Vegas ,took

10 grand which I was going to gamble with in a casino there.

Bottled out, could not do it, lost about 20 quid on the slot machines,

the only thing I do gamble on ,which is not really gambling is  the UK

Premium Bonds , hoping to win the Million Pounds ,which has not

happened yet , but for last few years always win over a 1000 quid

a year , which is a lot better than the banks.

National lotteries are designed to extract money from the already poor citizens of any country.  No one that already has any money plays the lottery.

Only those with low iq and a poor understanding of maths and probability would participate in a state sponsored transfer of money from its citizens back into the state.

Well I got mine yesterday. I was able to choose my 6 numbers. It’s quite easy even if you can’t read Thai. Usually I get 3x2 at 220 a pair costing 660. This time I got 6 (same numbers) for 480. Gotta be in it to win it!!!

I studied pre maths at uni and buy tickets for the entertainment value.

Yes rich people will have plenty of spare Baht to buy tickets,

win or lose it makes no difference to them , even if they are

multi millionaires they still want more , its never enough,

but 80 Baht ,online   or 100 Baht on the street it's a lot when

you are on basic wages, twice a month they hope to win big

and get them out of debt , a dreary existence ,good luck to them ....

P.S. these rich people you know ..........Crypto owners and speculators .????

Isn't top prize only something like 6,000,000 Baht? Then taxed and and split between top winners?

I mean you spend 100 Baht (which is a lot) and even if you beat the insane odds you win like a house and a new Toyota Hilux. Not exactly life changing event. ???? I understand appeal of playing these american lotteries for $100,000,000. But what's the point here? ????

This was the ONE thing I never understood.    7-11, buy tickets, just like back home.  pick your own numbers.   I or 2 USD and you can win up to 1 billion USD.   Here you get harassed while eating and they want like 6 USD and you can't pick your own numbers and you can win like 200 thousand USD.

Everything else I seemed to understand.  lol

You are doing well.... current rates, holding limits and prizes you would do well to get 20 prizes a year... and nearly all are 25 quid.

Exactly anyone with just a basic understanding of math would not buy for the potential returns, just for laughs. Although i could think of better ways to entertain yourself in Thailand rather than throwing money at the lottery but each to their own.
