bolt
I would carry USD in notes of 100 this makes it far easier to transfer inside a Thai bank using your passport 1
saakura
A few minths ago, I opened an FCD (Foreign Currency Deposit) account at the green bank (Kasikorn), took about 30 minutes (I have a savings account at the same branch). Remitted in USD from my own overseas account and it reached in 3 days. 1
Gottfrid
Doesn´t matter how you do. Same easy whatever you chose. It´s only about 27k USD we are talking about. No bank in Thailand will lift any eyebrows. Of course, if you have a reason to give for the transfer, that will make it all better. 1
worgeordie
If you can carry it in , 100 $ , 50 pounds or Euro high denomination notes they must be perfect , no tears , no writing as will not be taken You will get a higher exchange rate at say Superrich exchanges than transfering to bank, declare the funds at departure and have proof of where the funds originated , your bank account.? regards worgeordie

martin81
With wise you can have one account with many currencies incl. THB. So just get their Visa Debit card and use it in Thailand. No fees to pay with it. But some fees to withdraw. Only less than 0.6% fee to change into other currency eg. from USD to THB. That way you will not need a Thai bank account. Regyai
Is it 1M฿ held overseas in THB to be repatriated into LOS or merely the foreign equivalent of 1M฿ to be brought into Thailand and exchanged? OP doesn't hint as to end use (some things might need to show originated outside Thailand) or country of origin. If its just money to pi55 away in Thailand then handballing declared cash as already said is the way to go - If you hail from Switzerland you could accomplish it with a mere twenty odd banknotes (1M฿ in Thai cash is quite a brick of paper) Edited July 24, 2022 by Regyai
