Thai Rath reported that Wang Thong Lang police in Bangkok arrested three Chinese men who had earlier abducted and robbed a Chinese businessman  in the Thai capital.

They were named as He Junhui, 37, Jinyong Zheng, 36 and Heng Yaofeng, aged 35.

They were about to board QR 837 bound for Qatar at 2.30 am yesterday.

A Richard Mille watch valued at about 25 million baht and the keys to a Mercedes Benz were found in He's pants pocket.

The suspects were taken to Wang Thong Lang police station in downtown Bangkok for interrogation.

Earlier on Wednesday at about 2.30 pm police had received a call that Yang Hua, 31, had been abducted from the car park of VN Mansion Executive Residence in Soi 13, Rama 9 road.

He is a Chinese businessman with Vanuatu nationality.

He had arrived at the residence several hours earlier to visit his girlfriend.

When he tried to leave in his Mercedes Benz he was accosted by several men who bundled him into a Toyota Fortuner.

The girlfriend heard the commotion. CCTV was studied and a cap was found at the scene.

Later at 8pm Yang and his girlfriend went to Wang Thong Lang police.

Yang told investigators that the men who abducted him were not known to him. They tried to extort money from him but he was unable to transfer it because he had lost his phone in the scuffle.

So they took his 25 million baht Richard Mille watch and his car keys.

He had been driven in the Fortuner out to Bang Bua Thong in Nonthaburi where he was later released.

He took a taxi back to Huay Khwang where he went to a friend's shop for help.

Sources suggested that Yang had lent money to an associate who was involved in ordering his abduction.

The Fortuner was rented and found abandoned near the airport in Rom Klao.

The watch recovered from the men at the airport had the same serial number as Yang's timepiece.

The interrogation of the suspects continued yesterday afternoon.

For once a smart piece of work to arrest them before they left the country. Clearly also an advert for having Vanatu citizenship, one of the best , cheapest and quickest to get in the world, a smart move by this Chinese guy.

Used to be before Vanuatu lost their Schengen privileges.

Anyone got a price list handy?

Not an actual price list but for general reference:-

Richard Mille retail prices range between $60,000 – $1,300,000 MSRP. The average Richard Mille watch costs approximately $200,000 at retail MSRP. Complications, materials, and limited edition collections are all factors that contribute to how much a Richard Mille watch costs.

Curious asks..

Is that really what that watch is worth?

Anyone got a price list handy?

Have a look at this one, 750,000 US Dollars. Then they charge you 1,000 Dollars for shipping. best of all, it has a RUBBER wrisband!!!!!

To me they all look like the type of watch a young child would wear, but, hey, each to their own I guess..............

Even if i was mega rich i could not spend 25mil on a watch just to know the time, if you have that much dosh to burn give it to charity.

The thing with these watches is they are collectables and value usually goes up over time, If he bought it for 25 Million he might sell it for 30 a few years later. Hard to get 25 million donated to Charity back with an interest.
