Conflicting Information as to Whether a "90 Days" Report is Now Required

The Immigration office is Bangkok, to where the person moved in Late May.

Chronology:

March 10 - last 90 day report was done in previous province of residence; slip received indicated that next 90 day report is due June 10

April 3 - person left Thailand

May 3 - person returned to Thailand

May 16 - person moved from previous province to Bangkok, and began a new job on May 17

July 21 - person returned to old province, and cancelled old Extension of Stay

July 25 -  person received new temporary extension of stay re new job

July 31 - 89 days from May 3, so if a new 90 day report is needed, a 7 day grace period remains

Aug. 5 - person will be returning to Immigration to receive a further 10 months on extension of stay

Questions:  Must he do a 90 day report this week, to avoid a fine ?

                   Is a 90 day report necessary at all, since he has a new Extension of Stay ?

Changing addresses and applying for a new extension does not change when a 90 day report is due.

His report was still due on the 31st. It needs to be done by Friday the 5th or he can be fined 2000 baht since the 7th is on Sunday.

Many thanks.  Your opinion concurs with mine.  The 90 Day report is about residence, and is not affected by a change in visa extension.

You are making simple sound difficult. 

It is required for continuous stay in Thailand of 90 days.

If at any stage you exit Thailand your 90 day clock starts again  upon reentry.

Some offices will allow you to reset your 90-day reporting clock when you submit an application for an annual extension of stay. That certainly happened to me at Rayong when I applied for (and was granted) my latest retirement extension there a few weeks ago.

 

Presumably Chaengwattana aren't one of them, though?

CW went with that briefly late last year.

For my thinking I wish immigration offices would stay out of it.

90 day reports have nothing to do with annual extensions.

 

My last extension (CW) November 2021 the io noticed my report was due and started doing one.

I said no thankyou.

Mine didn't.............twice.

 

My online reporting date was unaffected by my entry at Suvarnabhumi in June, nor my entry at Don Muang in July.

There is no linkage between the online reporting site and immigrations arrival records.

You change your arrival date when completing the report and the report is then due 90 days after you arrived

That doesn't make sense - the next report date is 90 after you report; the arrival date is irrelevant.

 

In my case:-

 

Arrived 13 June

 

Usual notification to make report received 15 June

 

Report made      17 June

 

Accepted            18 June

 

Next report due  16 September    (90 days after 18 June)

It is a report of staying longer that 90 days in the country. No report is due unless you are in the country for 90 days.

On the day you leave the country the 90 day count for reporting is reset to zero.

Entry to Thailand starts your 90 day count. 

It resets everytime you exit.

 

By way of example ...my next report date is 25th Sept.

The thing is I travel to Oz in Aug.

So that report 25th is wiped.

Don't do it.

I return Sept 8.

My next report is due 90 days from the arrival date.

 

Prior to covid I never did a 90 day report for several years due to never being in Thailand continuously for 90 days.

I can't change my arrival date until I get the notification from the Immigration online system.

My report date remains 16 September (unaffected because it is not linked to arrival records)

 

 

I will get (as before) a notification about 18 days before the report date. I will complete the report date 15 days before and Immigration will no doubt approve around 13 days before. My next report date (as on the last occasion I quoted) will be 90 days from the approval date NOT my last arrival date.

Did you change your arrival date on the 90 day report site? It should of been denied it you did change it.

Nearly got caught out on that.

 

Realized at the last minute mine was due on a Sunday.......phoned to ask is it okay to do it on the Monday?..........Ans: Yes, no problem, see you Monday.

 

Found out somewhere about the fine and made a quick dash on the Friday.

Your starting date is July 22, 2022 so that means that 90 days later would be October 19, 2022

As I wrote before entering the country does not change the date your report is due in the online system. You can ignore the notification email if you have entered the country since you last report.l

You did a report that was not due yet.

Actually your post doesnt make sense. Of course the arrival date is relevant. Why make a report 2 days after you arrive in Thailand. Arrival resets any 90day reporting.  ie: if you arrived June 13th, then your next report is 90 days after that.

I arrived 13th June.

 

I received the online notification on 15 June.

 

I responded on 17 June and the report was accepted on 18 June.

 

Guess what what my next reporting date is.

Nobody is accusing you of lying, in fact most have bee n quite nice.  In reality if you left the country and returned on June 13, you will have to report in 90 days.

 

The computer system does not know you left and was giving you a 90 day report due time with reference to your last 90 day report. The system did not know you have left.

 

Its all good but you did not have to report until 90 days from June 13 by law.
