INN reported comments from the chief of the Royal Thai Police regarding his successor.

Pol Gen Suwat Changyodsuk, 60, will be stepping down this year. He took over as commissioner general on October 1st 2020 from former incumbent Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda.

Suwat said he didn't know when the committee to chose his successor would meet but it would be before the end of August.

He said they would chose the most appropriate candidate and he was not worried about who that might be.

He said that the names already widely reported in the media were the three in the frame.

These INN said are deputy commanders Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat and Roy Ingkhaphairoj and national police inspector Visanu Prasattongosoth.

Of the three candidates ASEAN NOW notes that Damrongsak - chief of the so called cyber cops unit - perhaps has the highest profile.

Roy is known as "Big Roy" - INN spelled his name wrong in Thai in their article.

Translated.  I've made enough to last me and my family several lifetimes so I don't care.

Posts such as these don't come cheap, but the chances to recuperate the investment is a no brainer...

Thickest brown envelope....................

It will be who puts the best bid in, not who is  the best for the job , that will win.

And it took him just two years to reach this point as the police apex.

The one bearing gifts.......

Notice how they said "most appropriate candidate", instead of "best or most qualified applicant".
