Four men at drug rehab camp taken to hospital with apparent food poisoning - was it the mussels?

Siam Rath reported that Trat rescue services were called to a drug rehab camp in Muang district after four men went down with what appeared to be food poisoning.

 

Probation department officer Khamron Leuangthanaphon was on hand as the men aged 20, 22, 29 and 32 were taken to Trat Hospital.

 

The camp from August 15th to 26th is for drug users not addicts, said Khamron.

 

Every day there was different food prepared by staff and this time 70 on rehab and 10 helpers had consumed pineapple curry with mussels. 

 

He doubted it was the mussels otherwise everyone would have got sick.

 

Rescue services who responded at 9.30 last night said that another 3-4 people reported minor symptoms of food poisoning but were deemed not necessary for hospital treatment.

Makes sense to me: mussels in pineapple curry sauce sounds like something a pothead would come up with.

Many of the drug rehab centres in LOS are off the charts as far as unethical, and totally cowboy, anarchic facilities.

Just make sure the mussels are fresh.

I totally disagree. Most are vrun by government.
