Popular Post webfact
Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Photo: NDTV By Thai Newsroom Reporters THE RULING PALANG PRACHARATH Party would no longer name Prayut Chan-o-cha as candidate for head of government in the next general election even if the legally embattled premier might possibly be allowed by court to prolong his rule, forecast former premier Thaksin Shinawatra yesterday (Aug. 30). During Care Talk live podcast programme, Thaksin predicted that the largest coalition party headed by caretaker prime minister Prawit Wongsuwan would no longer name Prayut, who is currently stopped by court from performing his prime-ministerial duties, as head of a post-election government as they did in the 2019 election. Palang Pracharath Party might probably name Prawit’s brother/former police chief Patcharawat Wongsuwan as the party’s candidate for head of government next time, according to the former premier who has been living in self-exile in Dubai following the 2006 coup. Eric Loh
Tony playing mind games with Prayut; messed him up when he is down and weak. Still he got this right and PPP will be committing harakiri in next election with him as candidate for PM when he is now the most unpopular politician in the country and even behind Tony's daughter. Time to pack up and vacate the political scene which you are ill suited. .

You need me to post his name, or you can figure it out by yourself? I have no leaning to either party, all politicians are crooks (not allegedly). The strange thing is that I can post about either side but it's only the red shirt fan-boys who get all bent out of place. Hilarious and a little bit sad at the same time. Hilarious that anyone would trust any of these crooks and sad that they would fight in the corner of the very politicians who have/will rip them off. 1

He tripled his personal wealth in 5 years of ruling, locked up (or worse) anyone who dared opposing or criticising him. The good news is that if the court will limit the tenure of a prime minister in Thailand he won't be able to get the job again after 5 years of personal ruling and few more through puppets 2 2

Pleas remind us all how many elections either Prayuth or Prawit actually entered as a candidate and won their place in a free vote. I don't care about this bunch either. They took their position by force rather than following the correct path of paying for votes. 1

Eric Loh
A dichotomy of opinions here by some Against free election and also against power grabbing. So what exactly do these confused folks recommend when they also said that all politicians are corrupted. My choice is to grant the wishes of the people in a free election. If the government is corrupt and is not serving the people well, let the people vote them out. Got to add, peaceful transfer of power and NO more illegal seizure of power by the military. His influence in full display in recent Bangkok ruling council election where PTP won 20 seats out of 50 member council. Stark contrast with PPP winning just 2 seats and DP winning 9. Bangkok is an important indicator for the rest of Thailand in the next election. Ex PTP Chadchart easily win the city governorship. Like or hate him his relevance to the country politics can’t be dismissed easily.

Perhaps not Thakky's direct influence, per se - but the built up circle and associations that continue to perpetuate his words. To this day, there is quite a significant media/pundit core that slobber over everything and anything Thaksin. Shinawatra owned and operated platforms assist greatly.
