A 50-year-old pickup truck driver plunged into a drainage ditch and died. Rain and a slippery road were attributable to the accident, police told The Pattaya News.

Pol. Lt. Col. Ratchapol Ratchavakan from the Don Hua Lo Police Station and rescue services rushed to a traffic accident scene on Sattaphong – Don Hua Lo Road in the Don Hua Lor subdistrict of Mueang district, Chonburi.

At the accident scene, police found an overturned black Isuzu Mu X pickup truck submerged in a drainage canal. Rescue services then dived in and rescued Mr. Anucha Konggat, 50, who was trapped in a car, drowned, and suffered serious injuries.

If only pickup trucks were designed to operate in the rain and on wet asphalt.

You have to chuck  few bags of cement in the back. Modern cars aren't so great, too light for good traction..... mind you electric cars might be an improvement, Open ruddy great ditches by the road seems to be an issue too.

How can you rescue someone that is already dead? ????

If you read the article a person from the “ rescue “ service not “recovery” service dived in to bring him out.

The journalist who wrote the article is probably not as precise as you and if it was originally written in Thai you may find that there is only one word or sentence that describes the procedure.

Although it doesn’t help the victim hope it assists your understanding.

That's a heck of a series of events.  I wonder how he was able to be trapped, rescued, died of drowning and then injured as well.

The truth is that he was injured in the crash, trapped in his car, he drowned, then the rescue services recovered his body.

So, the Lt Colonel's rush to get there was in vain.........
