American on Dirt Bike Kills Thai Woman Crossing Road in Chiang Mai
A troll is a troll. Not sure why he does it, but I suspect he likes using big words and enjoys putting people down. You just can’t make this stuff up. But he does. Fairly distasteful, a woman has tragically died. RIP Ms Ghia -

Any US Social security recipients out there doing direct deposits?
Keep in mind that Bt100 fee is the "basic" Bahtnet fee. If your receiving bank is not in the Bangkok or bordering provinces then your receiving bank "might" addon an "upcountry Bahtnet receiving fee" of X-amount per 10K. This would be hidden fee like the basic fee and also would not appear on your bank statement/passbook/online acct. You can ask your bank for a transaction report on that received payment and it would show all fee(s) the receiving bank applied. Maybe do that one time to confirm the total amount of receiving fees for future use in calculating the IDD exchange rate. -

Coming in visa exempt.. whats need right now (Jan 2 2024)
Most people are traveling on return tickets anyway, so the check in staff likely forgets to notice you are on a one way ticket sometimes. My experience is that even when flying the same airline from the same departure point, on a one way ticket, the check in staff only checks my onward ticket about 50% of the time. -

Revenue Department boss calls on tax residents in Thailand to file 2024 returns by March 31
My son pays all the bills. I'm too feeble-minded to handle such a task, or so I was told. I have a few thousand baht in my account. I am a pauper. When I die, my son has it all. I don't want him going through the grief (save it for me) of trying to get money from the bank. He has it now. He keeps the gold, too. I have found when I ask him to pay for something, that he does inquire now why the money needs to be spent at all. That was an added bonus. -
