I've heard of many cases where the person with the WP is the only foreign employee, the company HR/admin folks have no knowledge of this subject and the owner has asked the foreigner to take care of getting/renewing the WP.

Their are new forms for a work permit application forms or renewal.

They are still fillable.

At one time the DOE had the work permit forms for download but not any more. You should contact the local DOE office to get the form.

How does the foreigner get all the required copies of the company paperwork?

Ask.

Obviously the foreigner will need to ask the manager/owner for copies of these documents. No big deal for all concerned. Most companies use these documents often for various business purposes, therefore for ease of use would be readily available.

 

If the manager/owner wants the expertise of the foreginer not a big deal.

 

The company documents required don't have any confidential data (no revenue or sales numbers or anything similar). The details are all available on various government websites which by their nature have public/free access. (e.g. shareholder details, all easily availalble to anybody (read-only) on gov't websites.)

Simpler question: Has anyone renewed their Work Permit lately? What form did you use. WP5 is not accepted anymore.

Contact your local Dept of Employment.

They are very helpful.
