And to repeat what has been said they are a breed prone to vicious attacks and we are not all in a position to know how each and every one has been raised! They are hardly no threat to anybody ... even the owners are not safe as we see here.

The dogs, who were indoor dogs, were moved out to the kennel where they stayed "in the cold."  Blackwood said that with Stephens coming home maybe five times a week, the dogs became more isolated and only had contact with each other."

So, NO it doesn't apply to any animal.

 

You and all the other pit bull owners here can defend your dogs for as long as you like, but you cannot change reality.

Same applies to me but currently I have a Pit Bull and hopefully within the next year I'll buy another one. I never buy males and I never breed from females. I have them spayed. I buy dogs as pets not financial gain.

My father had a very cute and lovely Leonberger for us kids. It would bite every human being it could get hold of (and killed our cat), including us kids So every time, dad paid the victim like 50 dollars and we were instructed to tell everybody the dog would never bite anyone.

 

I have never, ever heard from a dog owner that his dog has ever bitten anyone. Makes me wonder,  where all those dog bites come from.

Males are constantly marking their territory and I dislike the thought of everything having dog urine sprayed up it.

I spay females because I'm not interested in breeding for financial gain. My dogs are pets. I also find females more placid and easy to train.

PSA for the readers: These breeds are absolute trash and if ever in a situation trying to release their tremendous bite stick anything sharp in it's butt plug hard and viciously the dog will immediately release it's bite.

Lots of big dog owners where I live.

They are usually command trained for basic things.

The problem seems to be that in situations where the dog becomes aggressive it is a new experience that neither dog nor owner is prepared for, and the owner can't control the dog.

The owners then blame others for getting their dog excited.

 

With respect to dogs of all breeds:

I used to work for a furnace oil delivery company.

Drivers were bitten by dogs fairly frequently.

Often owners would say something like "We have had Fido for 12 years and he has never bitten anyone."

I believe they were being absolutely truthful.

As others have said the dog never bites, until he does.

Labradors, Golden Retrievers, and little French Bulldogs appear in the lists of of dogs least likely to bite.

 

Boxers appear in both the lists of dogs most likely to bite and least likely to bite, go figure.

 

There are list published by law firms online but they are probably most concerned with bites that lead to lawsuits.

 

Chihuahuas.bite frequently but probably don't do much damage.

 

You can see videos online of cops and military training their dogs.

They create situations where the dog is excited and aggressive and train the dogs to obey under those circumstances.

I'm guessing that very few pet owners do that kind of training.

So their dog is essentially untrained when that kind of situation arises.
